Cepac, the UK’s leading independent corrugated packaging producer, has appointed David Alvis as its new Business Development Manager for its Rawcliffe site. This appointment, which will be based in Wales and the South West, further strengthens the UK sales team and marks the first time the business has benefited from a sales presence in the region.
David joins the team at Cepac from DS Smith, where he spent seven years as Area Sales Manager after graduating from the University of the West of England.
This appointment will accelerate business growth for Cepac Rawcliffe, which recently completed a £2m expansion. The site specialises in bespoke corrugated supply chain solutions including multi-point glued heavyweight products, regular cases, rotary die-cut, flat bed die-cut, stitched boxes, pallet boxes and pre-print boxes. The site’s emphasis is upon board performance and innovation, in many cases replacing other non-paper-based materials with a sustainable corrugated alternative, creating single material products suitable for recycling. Cepac Rawcliffe also offers a full range of UN certified corrugated packaging solutions.
Commenting on his new position, David said he was attracted to the opportunity to work with Cepac, which has the capability to service customers from a wide range of industries: “Cepac has significant plans for growth in my area and I have been impressed with the innovative product range and technical knowledge at Rawcliffe to support this objective.
“My family has worked in the corrugated sector for many years and so you could say I have grown up surrounded by boxes! I’m proud to be joining the Cepac team, which has such a strong reputation for creating innovative packaging solutions across a very diverse customer base.”
Nigel Hobson, Sales and Commercial Manager at Cepac, said: “Expanding our sales function is a key element of our strategy, as we focus upon development and growth across the UK. David’s industry expertise, combined with his regional knowledge, makes him a valuable addition to the Cepac team.”
