Congratulations to our colleague, Ellie Parkinson, who has passed her Laboratory Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship with a Distinction. A magnificent achievement!
Since April 2018, Ellie has been training on-the-job within our Quality Department, while also studying for a Diploma in Applied Science, attending Barnsley College one day per week. Ellie’s achievement means she can now sign up for the Register of Science Technicians and look forward to developing the next stages of her career with Cepac.
Based at our Rotherham site, Ellie plays an important role in the product testing process and works within our Quality Team to assess the raw materials used in our packaging products. The team works to ensure that our products meet the exacting Performance Packaging criteria that we have in place for all our customers.
Ellie was due to finish the two-year programme in April, but Covid-19 restrictions meant her assessment was delayed until the summer. As part of her final evaluation, Ellie proved her knowledge and skills against 50 different requirements, from health and safety to environmental and quality standards – these are all essential elements in delivering high-quality packaging for Cepac customers.
Ellie said: “I’m really pleased to celebrate this milestone and I’m looking forward to developing my career further with Cepac. Cepac is a great company to work for and I’ve had an incredible level of support throughout my training. Quality assessment and testing is such an important and interesting element of packaging.”
Commenting on her achievement, Ellie’s mentor and Laboratory Technician, Donna Pudsey, said: “Ellie has a great work ethic and we’re thrilled to see her progress to date. From the start, she showed dedication and willingness to learn and has already come so far in the two and a half years since starting with Cepac.”
