Your role

The main purpose of the role is to maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards within the production areas to keep the area clean and well organised and to conform to the BRCGS hygiene standards with the main duties are to:

  • Maintain housekeeping and hygiene in the Conversion areas including all walkways and in between the Conversion machines by dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning vents when required.
  • Sweep and mop the “green mile” areas and ensure all floors are clean.
  • Dust and wash barriers and underneath barriers including any storage areas.
  • Clean sinks and wash stations and maintain hygiene stocks.
  • Sweep/vacuum the mezzanine balcony, handrails and the stairs.
  • Use ride-on vacuum and scrubber-dryer machines to clean floors.
  • Clean staff toilets and maintain stock levels of toilet rolls, soap, and hand towels in the area.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures in place and notifying management of any occurring potential hazards.
  • Carry out any deep cleaning tasks and any special projects.
  • Cooperate with the production teams.
  • Assist with maintaining the external perimeter from carboard debris and litter.
  • Undertake shredding duties as and when required.

 

The successful candidates must be:

  • Able to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and has familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Can follow procedures.
  • Organised and methodical.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a passion for creating a positive, clean, and safe environment for all.

The role will be on rotating shifts, Monday to Friday, 6am to 2.30pm and the following week, 1.30pm to 10pm.
