FUNCTIONAL SUPERIOR/MANAGER:

Interim Conversion Manager

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work as a member of the Conversion machine crew, supporting the Conversion Machine Leader and other machine members to produce product to customer specifications, ensuring quality.

MAIN DUTIES:

• Comply with & duties on employees (Use equipment in accordance with instruction and training-
  report serious and immediate danger-take reasonable care of themselves and others).
• Comply with & duties.
• Receive cartons in bundles from the casemaker outlet conveyor.
• Place them on the palletiser in the pattern specified on the order with correct orientation.
• Understand base board requirements.
• Insert cardboard interleaving and add the next layer of bundles.
• Repeat the process to build the stack of cartons to the height specified on the order.
• Repeat the process to prepare further pallet loads.
• Insert pallet label in the specified position.
• Place sample on top of finished load when specified as a customer requirement.
• Whilst handling bundles carry out quality checks (examples below and report errors to the machine operator).
• Check that bundles are bundle tied if specified on the order.
• Check random bundles for non-conformance.
• Check random samples of un-banded bundles to ensure the individual cartons are glued, not ‘out of square’ or inadequately glued.
• Check that the individual bundles and the palletised bundles are well presented.
• Keep the work area clean and tidy.
• Participate in general cleaning during routine maintenance.
• Assist the Conversion Machine Leader and other crew members as necessary.
• Any other duties as requested within skills and knowledge. 

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

• Ability to work as a team member and individual as necessary.
• Proactive and problem-solving.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Numerate and IT literate.
